paper boats: Ten Tracks, Sequenced Alphabetically
paper boats is Torchwood Archive at its most nostalgic — hypnotic atmospheres, glitchy textures, ethereal pads, all lowercase. And there is a structural joke hiding in the tracklist.
The Sequencing
Read the track titles in order: a comfortable void, fading polaroid, moments in amber, morning fog, paper boats, passenger seat daydream, somewhere else entirely, that summer, again, unfocused gaze, worn cassette. The album is sequenced alphabetically — a, f, m, m, p, p, s, t, u, w.
Which means the running order was not composed at all. For a record this concerned with memory and faded images, handing the sequence to the alphabet is a fitting move: the tracks arrive in an order that has nothing to do with narrative, the way memories actually surface.
The longest piece is “moments in amber” at 5:52, the shortest “somewhere else entirely” at 2:48.

Where It Fits
Released September 5, 2025, eight days after Music for Decks — the two make a matched pair of Torchwood Archive lofi records from late summer 2025. The persona went quiet after that until Space Jaaz in December.
