minute: Eight Tracks, 6:53 Each

minute runs the same experiment as The Float but tighter and longer: eight tracks, each exactly 6:53, except the closer at 6:55. Fifty-five minutes of ambient built on a fixed grid.

A collection of eight ambient explorations featuring layered textures, field recordings, and minimalist drone compositions. Each track creates its own sonic environment, inviting deep listening and contemplation.

Why the Fixed Length Matters

Ambient music usually lets pieces run until they are done. Fixing every track to the same duration inverts that — the container comes first and the material has to fill it. What you hear across the eight is how differently the same span can be occupied: some tracks arrive somewhere by 6:53, others are still unfolding when the clock runs out.

As with The Float, the tracks are numbered rather than titled — “minute one” through “minute eight.” The naming refuses to tell you what any individual piece is about.

Tracklist

minute one 6:53
minute two 6:53
minute three 6:53
minute four 6:53
minute five 6:53
minute six 6:53
minute seven 6:53
minute eight 6:55

Where It Fits

Released October 1, 2025, this is the first of the two equal-length records; The Float followed on November 1 with four pieces instead of eight. Together they mark the point where the musical nature catalog got interested in structural rules — a thread that runs straight into the Silent Machines series, which takes the opposite approach: one unbroken track, no grid at all.
